The Chain Link belt has a simple design with spiral coils woven together to form an open mesh. It is cost-effective, lightweight, and popular for low-load conveying tasks, drying, and cooling. It can be provided with knuckled or welded edges and with alternating left and right facing panels to address tracking issues. The plain steel parallel driven roller system is the most commonly used form of drive. This system relies on the frictional contact between the belt and roller to drive the belt.
